The National Board of Review of Motion Pictures announced its awards for the 2007 movie year. Leading the pack was No Country for Old Men, which the NBR recognized in three categories including Best Film of the Year. George Clooney was named Best Actor for Michael Clayton and Julie Christie named Best Actress for Away From Her. Sweeney Todd, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Gone Baby Gone, Juno, and Into the Wild were also favorites.
The NBR also selected Michael Douglas to receive the Career Achievement Award, and Denzel Washington’s The Great Debaters and Vincent Paronnaud and Marjane Satrapi’s Persepolis for the BVLGARI Award for NBR Freedom of Expression.
