On Friday, September 28, the NYFF will open with a screening of The Darjeeling Limited by Wes Anderson (Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums). Other high profile movies at the fest include:

--Noah Baumbach's Margot at the Wedding (starring Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Jason Leigh).

--Todd Haynes's Bob Dylan flick, I'm Not There (with Christian Bale, Richard Gere, Heath Ledger, and Cate Blanchett all taking their turns at Dylan impressions).

--Brian De Palma's Iraq war movie, Redacted.

--Sidney Lumet's crime drama, Before the Devil Knows You're Dead (with Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Ethan Hawke, Albert Finney and Marisa Tomei).

--Julian Schnabel's The Diving Bell and the Butterfly.

The Coen brothers' No Country for Old Men will be the centerpiece film on Oct 6, and the festival will close on Oct 14 with Marjane Satrapi and Vincent Paronnaud's Persepolis, an animated movie based on Satrapi's graphic novel about her coming-of-age during the Islamic Revolution in Iran.

In addition to the mainstream film presentations, there will also be a 25th anniversary Blade Runner screening, Directors Dialogues with Wes Anderson, Todd Haynes, Sidney Lumet and Julian Schnabel, and an avant-garde film presentation, amongst much more.
