AFI FEST takes over Hollywood

This year's AFI Fest will take place in LA between November 1 and November 11. The longest running film festival in Los Angeles, the AFIFest not only screens many awards contender movies, but also focuses on shining a light on international film, as well as actors deserving mention.

The Tom Cruise/Meryl Streep/Robert Redford war drama, Lions for Lambs, was selected to open the fest at the opening night gala, Jason Reitman's comedy, Juno, will be the centerpiece, and Love in the Time of Cholera will close. AFI is holding a tribute to Laura Linney on Nov. 9, who will screen her movie, The Savages, at the fest, as well as one for Catherine Deneuve, who is there with Persepolis on the 10th.

The AFI Fest will include a notable array of buzzed about foreign films, including 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days, The Band, Caramel, and The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, as well as Margot at the Wedding and Look from the U.S.
