 | Mr. Big (Chris Noth) -- Carrie's ultimate love, the one that she could just never get over. And how could she? Big is gorgeous, smart, wealthy and with just enough philandering commitment-phobia to make him intoxicating. Thank God S&TC is fiction, because we got to see him finally pledge his love in the last episode -- something that would probably not happen in real life with a guy like this. |
 | Aidan Shaw (John Corbett) -- Forever Mr. Big's runner-up, hottie Aidan Shaw is the only one who ever got close to being another real contender for Carrie's heart. But the dog-loving, furniture-making, anti-smoking nice guy just couldn't stand up to Carrie's neurotic side, even if some viewers think that breaking off their engagement was the dumbest thing they ever did. |
The Also-Rans:
Bill Kelley a.k.a. The Politico (John Slattery) -- The dashing, persistent politician that Carrie meets at a firemen's calendar contest in Staten Island seems great...until he wants her to pee on him.
Vaughn Wysel a.k.a. Mr. Premature (Justin Theroux) -- The fellow writer who turns out to be more of a 60-second-man than a 60-minute one. But his family is so cool that she thinks about trying to tough it out.
Wade Adams a.k.a. Power Lad (Cane Peterson) -- The comic book store guy whose youthful enthusiasm wears thin when they get caught smoking up at his parents' place -- where he lives. But at least she got to scoot in heels.
| Richard Wright (James Remar) -- It's not every man that can tame the unsinkable Samantha Jones, but this hotel mogul actually captures her heart. And then cheats on her. At least she gets to stalk him wearing silly wigs. |  |
| Smith Jerrod (Jason Lewis) -- Samantha's other main man is this much younger, model-gorgeous waiter she plucks out of obscurity and turns into a famous actor. But despite her attempts to give him the slip, this guy is the whole deal. I mean, he stays with her through breast cancer. |  |
The Also-Rans:
Franciscan Brother a.k.a. Friar F--k (Costas Mandylor) -- Leave it to Samantha to break all taboos and go after a priest for heaven's sake.
James a.k.a. Mr. Too Small (James Goodwin) -- There is nothing that epitomizes Samantha -- or this series -- better than her breaking down in a bathroom stall and bawling because her boyfriend's package is too small.
Mr. Cocky (James Enos III) -- The only thing funnier than Samantha breaking up with a boyfriend who was too petite is her trying to sedate herself into being able to weather one who is too big.
 | Skipper Johnston (Ben Weber) -- Oh, remember Skipper? Miranda kicks off SATC with a slightly abusive affair with this uber-dorky younger guy who worships the ground she walks on. Too bad she doesn't reciprocate. |
 | Steve Brady (David Eigenberg) -- Who would have thunk that acerbic power-lawyer Miranda would wind up living in Brooklyn with a working-class bartender husband? But Steve is just so damn sweet you've got to root for him, even if they are a weird match. |
The Also-Rans:
Ethan Watson a.k.a. The Film Buff (Rob Campbell) -- The documentarian who is so into film that he can't do it without watching X-rated movies. Good riddance.
Thomas John Anderson a.k.a. The Guilty Catholic (John Benjamin Hickey) -- The up-and-coming playwright who thinks God will smite him if he doesn't shower immediately after sex, and don't you dare tell him otherwise.
Lou a.k.a. The Manorexic (Sam Seder) -- The old friend who moved to LA to be a writer shows Miranda the downside to the LA lifestyle when he spits out all his food after chewing it.
| Trey MacDougal (Kyle MacLachlan) -- Trey seems like Charlotte's ideal WASP match. But between his impotence and his overbearing mother, he sends Charlotte into the arms of the gardener and on the road to divorce. Sometimes things aren't what they seem. |  |
| Harry Goldblatt (Evan Handler) -- How hilarious is it that Charlotte winds up the ultimate yenta married to her divorce lawyer in the form of short, bald-on-top and hairy-in-back Harry? Opposites must really attract. |  |
The Also-Rans:
Stephan a.k.a. 'The Gay-Straight Guy' (Dan Futterman) -- Who can forget the Cheslea-dwelling, Cher-loving pastry chef who surprises Charlotte by declaring he's straight (and interested) -- and then blowing it when he screeches and flops like a girl after seeing a mouse in his kitchen?
Ned a.k.a. 'The Widower' (Kurt Deutsch) -- The widower that Charlotte picks up at (someone else's) funeral and who plays the dead wife card to reel in as many women as he can find. Slimy!
Mike a.k.a. 'Mr. UnCut' (Alex Draper) -- The restaurant critic that gets circumcised when Charlotte says his bits look like a shar pei, but then decides he needs to take it out on the town once the surgery is done. It kinda serves her right.
