On starring as a baby-crazed Brit in Miss Conception.

Actress Heather Graham has played an adult film star with a thing for roller skates in Boogie Nights, Mike Myers' spy sidekick in Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, and everything in between. Now, in her new movie, Miss Conception, Graham plays a thirtysomething construction company owner who desperately wants a baby, but finds out she only has one more shot at it before early menopause sets in.

"I think it's fun, it's very relatable," she says of the movie. "I know a lot of people going through this kind of thing, where they're thinking about having a kid. I think men can relate to it, too. It's like, 'When do you have one? What person do you have them with? At what age are you supposed to have one?' It's definitely something that I think everybody thinks about."

Miss Conception is set in London, and Graham's character is English, so she and co-star Mia Kirshner (The L Word, The Black Dahlia) had to do some work on perfecting the accent. "We had a coach," Graham explains. "This guy named Brendan Gunn. He's done a lot of movies and thank God for him because we were very scared. He helped us feel confident."

Graham was drawn to the story -- and the accent challenges it presented (which she rises to admirably) -- by the humor in it. "I thought it was funny. Just the idea of a girl trying to get these random strangers to impregnate her," she laughs. "I love doing comedies. It's just fun to be silly and just do something that's fun and light-hearted."

Her favorite scene, she says, is one in which her character tries to force her gay best friend (played by Orlando Seale) to sleep with her. "As a woman, you never get to say, 'Take your pants off! You're getting me pregnant!' You never have to yell at a guy to have sex with you," she recounts.

Up next for Graham is another comedy called Ex-Terminators, which she just finished shooting with Jennifer Coolidge (American Pie, For Your Consideration) in Austin, TX. "It's about a bunch of women in an anger group that kill men. It's like an angry movie, but it's a comedy. It's sort of silly," she says.
