"The film does indeed end on a cliffhanger," McG confirmed today at Comic-Con.

Director McG and cast from Terminator Salvation were on hand for a private press conference at Comic-Con which including Bryce Dallas Howard, Anton Yelchin, Sam Worthington, Moon Bloodgood and Common. ReelzChannel was there to talk about the production.

Terminator Salvation is a reboot for the Terminator series and is likely to be the jump start for a new trilogy. Parts two and three won't be confirmed until Salvation succeeds at the box office, but McG is certainly hoping to continue the series.

Shortly before the press conference. McG unveiled a bombastic reel of footage in Hall H. It was heavy on action and light on specific story points, but it did seem to hit the spot for the Comic-Con faithful who reacted enthusiastically.

It's still unclear whether Salvation will be rated PG-13 or R.

"I have no problem with a PG-13 picture. I just saw The Dark Knight and I thought it was a work of art, compromise-free. If [the studio] says deliver a rated R picture, then that's really freeing."

He went on to indicate that the ultimate decision will depend on whether key story elements alter the MPAA rating or if it's simply a matter of toning down an unnecessarily gory scene to meet the PG-13 rating.

Terminator Salvation is currently slated for release May 22, 2009.
