Mike Richards: We're talking about vampires and while I was at Comic-Con in San Diego I talked to a group of vampires that fans are very excited to see, the cast of Twilight. The romantic thriller Twilight is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Tt's the story of a girl and the ultimate unavailable boy, a vampire.
Robert Pattinson: Yeah, yeah, I just, I just I kind of liked the story. I was like, "A vampire love story?" It was kind of interesting and I was really, I don't know, just thinking about it, you know, in terms of making the actual movie good. And then it suddenly, like, exploded around you.
Taylor Lautner: My favorite part of the book series is it has that romance, but it also has the action. It has the horror. It has everything. Um, but the romance, where I come in, is later on in the third book. You got the love triangle going on.
Mike Richards: There's been the inevitable comparisons to Harry Potter, but if you've actually read the books they're very different. So take this opportunity and explain just what's different.
Stephenie Meyer: Everything's different. Harry Potter is this, you know, magical imagination and everything's new and different and, uh, Twilight's more, this is stuff you could really see. Except for the one element, you know, with the vampires.
Taylor Lautner: One of the main differences is Harry Potter is, like, all CGI. It's just one hundred percent CGI. Twilight is real. It's real stunts, real stuff going on and I feel the big difference is the characters are so real. Stephenie wrote them so the fans could relate to them. There's fans out there that go, "Wow, I know exactly what Bella's, you know, experiencing. Wow, Edward, I totally understand what you're feeling," and, uh, I think that's the big difference.
Mike Richards: Now you play what you describe as a Bad Vamp, which is a Bad Vampire.
Edi Gathegi: I am a traditional vampire, which means that I feed off of human beings to sustain myself. That's what vampires do. The Cullens are more evolved so they've they've learned how to sustain themselves by eating animals. So they're vegetarians. I'm a traditional vampire, so I will kill you in order to eat, but that doesn't make me a bad person. That just makes me...
Mike Richards: A traditionalist.
Edi Gathegi: That's what I do for nature, you know, and I think that my character actually has a good side to 'em, other than the fact that he might eat you.
Mike Richards: You know everybody has their flaws.
Edi Gathegi: Everybody's got their flaws you know!
