Mike Richards: Now one of Danny Mcbride's costars in Tropic Thunder is Robert Downey Jr. And it's already been just a ridiculous Summer for Downey with, of course, Iron Man. But in Tropic Thunder he's got a brand new look. He's a little different looking, isn't he?

Sam Rubin: Very different look, Mike. The new look is correct. And he's taking race relations to a whole new level. Downey also told me why this a movie everyone will be talking about.

Sam Rubin: Robert Downey Jr. is known for taking chances in his acting career, but in Tropic Thunder he went the distance.

Sam Rubin: Things are going your way in a huge way.

Robert Downey Jr.: I can't wait for this movie to be out and for people to be enjoying it and talking about it and seeing it and bringing their friends and family.

Sam Rubin: And talk about it they will. Downey plays an actor, who with the rest of the cast, goes to the jungle to make a war movie. Except that Downey's white actor goes to great lengths to become his black character.

Ben Stiller: It was so much fun to work with him on this movie and to see how brave he was just to go in and be this guy and really commit to it with no sort of guarantees that it was even going to work.

Sam Rubin: I'm not saying this in a blow smoke way, you're fantastic in this, just great... did you know it when you were doing it?

Robert Downey Jr.: When we were doing it I knew that I was. Its like that thing, you know, when you're in the zone. It's not an ego thing its just whatever I did I did enough and trained hard enough to be in the zone for this game on this day.

Sam Rubin: Does it make you embrace it more or question it more?

Robert Downey Jr.: I always questioned having a "Summer of Love" where you have huge successes and all this stuff because usually I'd see my friends after those and they've changed in a way that I wouldn't say I appreciated.

Sam Rubin: I love this phrase "Summer of Love." How much departure does this feel from, I dunno, five or six Summers ago.

Robert Downey Jr.: I cant recall much of anything but having had a good life and a successful career.

Sam Rubin: He's overcome a lot to get back on top. He's really a nice, nice man and good for him for overcoming all he's overcome in this tremendous success.

Mike Richards: And he is fantastic, of course, in Iron Man and every time he speaks in this movie it's hysterical.

Sam Rubin: It's very funny.

This is the most disgusting movie I've ever seen! Stupid dialogue, base language, obscene acts that offend every sensibility of
man. An enormous waste of film, money, and the "actors?" time. Shame on Downey, Cruse, Black--but maybe typical of
Stiller. We walked out and asked for our money back!!! God bless our young people is this is the toilet humor they like
and pay to see. It started off mocking Christianity in the very beginning. How can a movie like this get to distribution?
