ReelzChannel sat down recently with Michelle Monaghan, who stars alongside Shia LaBeouf in Eagle Eye. The two play strangers thrown together by a mysterious phone call and soon enmeshed in a terror cell's assassination plot.

ReelzChannel: You did a lot of running in this movie. Is there a bruise count? Is there an I-lost-X-amount-of-pounds count?

Monaghan: There is a shin splint count. There was a lot of running, a lot of sprinting in heals -- and like three- or four-inch stiletto heals. Yeah, it was very challenging and very painful, but a hell of a lot of fun.

RC: What is the shin splint count?

Monaghan: Right, I mean the pain was unbearable, really, for about three months.

RC: Were you freaking out during the car-chase scene?

Monaghan: Yeah, it was scary to shoot it. The car was actually rigged so there was no shifting involved...it was in drive so I didn't have to worry about that, thank goodness! That would have been too much for me to think about. I am only an actor, of course. But it was really, really fun. They closed down the streets and I got to drive like a mad women.

RC: A Porsche, not bad?

Monaghan: Yeah, come on, it was my first time behind a Porsche and you get to kind of have your way with it. It's fantastic.

RC: Working with Shia, what is he like? Everyone says he's fun, fun, fun.

Monaghan: He's amazing.

RC: But does he go to that actor place? Does he take his moments on set and focus?

Monaghan: Oh definitely. He's one of the most-focused actors I've worked with and definitely just strives to make it better each scene. He takes it very, very seriously. That's why I think I enjoyed working with him so much -- 'cause he's a really hard worker. I constantly have to remind myself that he's just 21 -- maybe he's 22 now, I'm not sure -- but he's so talented already. I can't believe what he's going to be like 10 years from now, I'm sure.

RC: What's the biggest misconception about him?

Monaghan: Well, I was really just surprised -- he's the only actor that I've ever worked with that will get a 5:30 call time but will be there at 5:15 in the morning. Just waiting. He made the rest of us who turned up on time look bad, do you know what I mean? I was like, "I need that extra 15 minutes. Give me a break, man!" Yeah, he's great.

RC: Now working with him and D.J. Caruso -- they've got a melded relationship. Jumping in and being the new person, what was it like?

Monaghan: They were great, that was the thing.... They sometimes really don't even speak. They sort of talk and sign, I guess.

RC: So what is that like for you?

Monaghan: I mean, I didn't understand, but D.J.'s such a great director. And Shia, the great thing about it is that we really had an intensive rehearsal process before we even started. We all really got to know each other very well. We all really trusted each other and like each other a lot, so it was a great working relationship.

RC: You look like you had fun.

Monaghan: I had a great time, thank you.
