New Moon's 5 Most-Anticipated Scenes

What five scenes in the New Moon book do you most want to see on the big screen? That's the question we posed to a number of Twilight fansites. We bring you their responses below -- in alphabetical order (just to be clear that we're not picking favorites).

But we also want to know what you're looking forward to seeing. Be sure to drop us a comment below, telling us your five most-anticipated New Moon scenes.

  1. The paper-cut scene -- You could call this "the beginning of the end" for our favorite human-and-vampire couple. This scene is an essential part of the book -- and the entire series, really. This is where Edward decides that he better leave to make Bella safe. Besides, who doesn't want to see Jasper go all "blood-thirsty-vamp" on Bella?

  2. Bella, Jacob, and Mike at the movies -- This is one of the lighter moments in the story. This scene provides some much-need comic relief after Bella's comatose months. It's nice to see Bella moving forward, and let's face it, as much as we adore the pesky-but-adorable Mike Newton, him puking his poor little guts out will provide us with countless laughs.

  3. Bella's cliff diving -- This scene is important because it sets up the second part of the novel perfectly: It is extreme enough to allow Bella to make her statement without risking her life too much. It's better than, say, her crashing her bike into a tree. Oh, and we also get a peek at some red hair while she's under water...*coughvictoriacough*.

  4. Meeting Emily -- While this scene is not one that usually comes to mind when thinking of New Moon, it's vital for the development of the story. Sam and Emily's story helps Bella understand what "soul mates" truly mean. While meeting Emily, Bella also realizes that the wolves aren't as safe as she thought they were.

  5. Volterra -- This is a given not only because it's the part that starts to tie up New Moon, but it's what sets up the sequels. Also, it's one of the few times where Bella gets to be the heroine instead of the damsel-in-distress.

  1. The one everyone is waiting for, Bella jumping from a cliff (There have already been quite a few fan videos about this one!)

  2. The high-speed scene where Alice and Bella are rushing to save Edward in the stolen, yellow Porsche

  3. Laurent discovering Bella in the woods, and then the werewolves menacingly coming out of the forest

  4. A glimpse into Alice's vision (flashback of the future?) of Edward walking out into the sun and everyone seeing him glow

  5. The large group of tourists being led into the Volturi feeding room and slowly realizing that they have walked into a trap

    My top 5 scenes that i would like to see are

    1: Birthday Party(of course every body's favorite scene)
    2. The BreakUp ( so gonna cry)
    3. When jacob turns into a werewolf
    4. The scene where she saves edward from killing himslef or the reunion
    5. The marriage proposal

    I agree with all of the above scenes but I think it is essential to also add the scene where Rosalie is apologizing when Edward and Bella get back to the states. I think the fans need to see her remorse for the way she treated Bella. Also, I think that the first movie was awesome considering their limited budget. And since New Moon's Budget is much larger I'm sure it will be much better.

    so wanna here what im waiting for
    1. rosalie holding the "creature," Jacob trembling about to attack, and most of all RENESMEE imprinting on jacob
    2. the moment bella finds out that jacob is attached to her daughter and wants to rip out his throat with her bare hands
    3. jane trying so hard to make bella fall to her knees and realizing that bella isn't as weak as one may think
    4. renesmee talking through a touch
    5. charlie's face when he sees his daughter as a vampire for the first time

    Hmm, i Have to agree with Lasexychulisnaki. Their are literaly millions of twilight saga fans out there, and just bits and pieces of the books cannot do it. If the issue is money they should let the fans contribute. Twilight could have been better if they had more of the book in it. I want New Moon to be great. It's vert important because it builds up to the evens that happens in Eclipse and Breaking Dawn, therefor the movie shouldn't leave out anything or be all chopped up.

      I would have to agree with DaniiRawwr as well as just about evreybody!! I have to say that when I sw the movie the feeling I got was that there was obviously alot more to this story than what was depected in the film-which made me an instant fan of the books!! Still can't put them down no matter how many times I read them! :) If New Moon is to make the fans happy and appreciate seeing the story on the big screen YOU HAVE TO GO BY THE BOOK!!! Too many key points wer missed in Twilight..not saying that I'm mad at Catherine at all. She gets credit for building upon the anticipation and delivering a first look.
      Scenes that are a MUST!!

      1) definitely the birhtday party
      2) the Romeo and Juliet being recited by Edward
      3) The "End"
      4) Bella's turmoil, going through the breakup and the fit she throws once her parents try to get her to leave Forks
      5) At the movies
      6) The times she's hanging out with Jacob-
      7) Hearing the voices and the save by Jacob
      8) Alice and Charlie talking about Bella's "handling it"
      9) The almost kiss with Jacob and Bella
      10) Volterra of course
      11) The am I dreaming/hallucinating/dead scenes with Edward in Volterra and Bella back home
      12) The Vote
      13) The Proposal

      You know what.....why not just do the whole book and that way EVERYBODY IS SATISFIED!! :)

      I completely agree with DaniiRawwr. I loved Twilight even though I knew it could have been better. The books are none other than phenomenal. I want everyone to feel the way we felt when we read the books. If that means the movie needs to be three hours then that's just what its gonna have to be. Nothing needs to be left out. I pretty much want to see the books on screen. I love the Twilight saga and I just want to see it on-screen for what it is. And that is AWESOME.....

    hmmm, i have to agree with one of the above comments...after the vote at the end when edward just freaks and grabs her face and gets right in her face, then he stomps out and breaks something loudly. robert will be awesomeeee. i love it because he's so torn, and he loves her so much. sniff. obviously cliff diving, i think they should cut to alice and see her see it, then later show rosalie tell edward and his reaction, even thought that's not in the book. and all the volterra stuff (especially when they're walking underground and he's touching her face and smelling her hair in the dark. all the stuff with longing in their hearts. also when edward breaks up with her and its so obvious to the reader that hes lying, but stupid bella buys it no problem. robert will do awesome with that as well. visually, if they could do it and not be cheesy, bella riding the motorcycle and hearing edward...i can just see her closing her eyes and reveling in the sound of his voice.

    1. I want to see Bella cook on new moon bc on twilight she didnt cook, also some more of Alices visons
    2. Edward and Bella watching Romeo and Juiliet, him saying Romeos words in her ear
    3. When Bella is at her b-day party and she gets a paper cut from opening the presents then Jasper leaps at her and tries to bite her. then the whole dramatical moment when it happens
    4. The breakup in the woods and then Sam finding her.
    5. When Jacob and Bella are sitting together at the movies while Mike is in the bathroom puking.
    6. Jacob becomes a werewolf
    7. Bella goes in the woods and runs into Laurent, she sees the werewolves
    8. Bella hearing Edward in her head throughout her reckless activities. { When she is rides the motorcycle, jumps off the cliff and then jacob saves her }
    9. Jacob and Bella get into a fight bc he cant tell her that hes a werewolf, Jacob climbs the tree and tries to get her to guess what hes become she tells him the next day and I really want to see when Bella flips when she thinks that Jacob kills humans
    10. Bella and Jacob walking on the beach together
    11. She sees Jacob shapeshift
    12. Meets Emily
    13. The moment in the truck when Bella hears Edwards voice telling her to kiss Jacob and be happy then she sees Carlisles car and races to see who it is
    14. When she sees Alice and Edward calls and pretends to be Carlisle, then when Alice takes her to the volterra
    15. Bella asks Alice to change her into a vampire and the rest of the trip
    16. Bella saves Edward and meets the volterra
    17 Edward thinking he's dreaming when he sees Bella

    I definitely loved the New Moon book, and I can’t wait to see the best part of it in the movie. When I’m reading the part when Edward leaves Bella my heart is aching and I’m almost crying the whole time. Absolutely, the entire chapter in the book is necessary to include it in the movie maybe summarize it and it will be good. Just give highlights to the birthday party, when Edward leaves Bella, Jacob and Bella friendship and cliff diving scene, the phone call, Volterra scenes, and the last part.

    ok there are so many things I want in the movie that they couldn't possibly make the movie under 3 hours so here are the 5 things i think are most important to the plot and all of that.
    1. Bella's birthday party- it sets up the main conflict which is the whole team jacob team edward stuff basically, when edward decides to leave to protect bella but she bassically loses it and then gets a little better because jacob helps and what not, and who doesnt want to see jasper lose control and go all rawr on bella's ass?
    2. when edward leaves- omg i cried in the book at this point and then i threw it at a wall...of course i want to see it in the movie! and besides i don't think they can leave it out because that is the most vital detail in new moon! edward leaving and sopposevly not coming back! arg! its making me aggitated thinking about it. p.s. im for Team Edward!
    3. the 1st time bella and jacob ride the motorcycles- bring on the hullucinatiions! haha lol so this is needed because it leads up to the big one...bella jumping off a cliff. she always does reckless things around jacob so the motorcycles are perfect to help that mood and also i want to see some action
    4. cliff diving!- ya i dont need to tell u why just do it please!
    5. the first night edward is back- ok i know this isnt crucial at all but this chapter (chapter 23 the truth page 500) is my favorite in the whole entire book. i have read it like 20 times and it still makes me cry because edward appoligizes for leaving her and tels her why and its just so sweet and i think you need to put this in the movie because it will make the relationship between bella and edward seem stronger than ever.....so ya thats it

      I agree! There's so many good parts in this book that i just hope they give a little more than 2 hours effort to fit it all in......instead of 1 hour and so and so minutes! Now that they have more money to film with why not make more film?!?
      Besides i can't wait to see Jasper lung at Bella anyways! It's going to be awesome! It shows more of how Jasper's difficulty to control his thirst, comes out. I also am soooooo anxious to see your 5th choice! Especially the part whe Edward recites how sorry he is for leaving!
      I REALLY hope they put in the poem-like apoligy he said to Bella, you know the one where he's like "My life was like a moonless night. Very dark, but there were stars; points of light and reason...And then you shot across my sky like a meteor. Suddenly everything was on fire; there was brilliancy, there was beauty. When you were gone, when the meteor had fallen over the horizon, everything went black. Nothing had changed, but my eyes were blinded by the light. I couldn't see the stars anymore. And there was no more reason for anything."
      Gosh! I hope soooo badly that they put that part in the movie! The part where, at the end, they debate over whether he's really there, and that he really loves her! Jeez this movie's gonna be good! hee hee ^_^

    1. The birthday party - where Jasper tries to attack Bella
    2. Bella 'hearing' Edward in her head and trying to feed off of that to keep herself going
    3. When the wolves attack Laurent
    4. The cliff diving
    5. When Alice returns - and of course when she steals the Porsche
    6. The Volterra part with Bella racing to save Edward and meeting the Volturi and sitting in the reseption area just staring at each other

      I totally agree with all of those! Especially the last one, i mean that's where the debate goes on from into Eclipse, they have to put that part in the movie!
      Oh and the 2nd one! The movie has to show her REAL pain, and the difficulties that Bella goes through, that way we can all better understand how much it means that her and Edward can't be apart you know?!? I'd also love to see the 6th one too...^_^

    obviously they're going to have to include the scenes the people said they want in the movie most (the paper cut, volturi, cliff dive, proposal, dilusions)....we just all have to hope they don't distort these scenes and take away the magic that makes us love them most.
    The 5 scenes that they could very likely leave out but I want to see are:
    1) Jacob and Bella giving eachother points for age---makes you like Jacob a little more, developing the conflict...who's the better guy for her?
    2) Meeting Emily and quil and paul fighting---shows the wolves can be unstable
    3) Victoria's hair in the water after the cliff dive---its subtle even in the book, so i hope they make an effort to show it in the movie rather than forgetting it
    4) "Well, I'm nearly a hundred and ten. It's time I settled down."~Edward---they could leave that line out because they want the scene to be intense and stuff, but everyone likes a bit of comic relief, and its just really cute
    5) Edward breaking something in the living room during the vote---they may skip over that because it isnt crucial to the plot in anyway, but its funny, kind of adorable, and also makes you wonder in the back of your head "why is he that upset? Does he not want to have her forever? Hmmm..."
    As for other things I hope for in the movie:
    when bella gets hurt on her motorcycle, i just hope its not too gory. I can read about her head bleeding, but I dont think I'll enjoy actually seeing kristen stuart's head gushing everywhere (I get a little queezy at even movie blood).
    Give edward his chance to be lovable and romantic in the beginning so you dont just completely hate him when he comes back. The Romeo and Juliet scene should be a bit mushy because you want something to hold on to while edwards away, otherwise, you've waited for him long enough and your just mad at him when he finally returns
    Don't make the delisions weird and cheezy please! I cant even think of a perfect way of doing it without seeming cheesy

    The birthday party for sure. I hope that they capture the growls of the vampires though and not hissing sounds. I think they need to play up that primal thing so that you get they are animal like in some ways.

    Cliff Diving. This is important to Edward thinking Bella has died and Alice coming back to Forks.

    Volterra. Every part of this is important. Bella's selflessness, Jane and Aro's abilities, even the appearance of the Volturi. They need to show that not all vampires can control themselves around humans as well as the Cullens.
    Bella in the woods after Edward leaves her. Showing how she is lost without him shows that they are soul mates.
