Interview with Taken Star Liam Neeson

When a former spy's 17-year-old daughter is kidnapped and forced into the slave trade while vacationing in Paris, he puts his old skills to use in order to save her. Recently, ReelzChannel sat down with Liam Neeson to talk about playing the father at the center of this action-packed thriller.

ReelzChannel InterviewerReelzChannel: So tell us about former agent Bryan Mills.

Liam NeesonNeeson: The character I play ... used to have a career in a very covert organization that many countries throughout the world have ... men who occasionally are sent to do things in other countries. My guy, Bryan, used to be one of those.

ReelzChannel InterviewerRC: Did the role let you play out 007 fantasies?

Liam NeesonNeeson: No, I don't -- never had fantasies of playing James Bond. But it's good to fire guns and drive cars really fast, go after bad guys, ya know?

ReelzChannel InterviewerRC: Could you relate to your character?

Liam NeesonNeeson: There's a side of me that does not like the physical violence that this character chooses. But he is confronted with something that's -- it's either kill or be killed. And he just goes all out to try and save his daughter. That's just interesting to play.

ReelzChannel InterviewerRC: What was it like working with Maggie Grace?

Liam NeesonNeeson: She's incredibly talented. Any scenes we've done, she's absolutely there, 100 percent. All of her emotions are there for you to play with.

ReelzChannel InterviewerRC: How was it working with the novice director Pierre Morel?

Liam NeesonNeeson: But I don't think Pierre is novice at all. He's steeped in cinema from years of working with Luc Besson ... and he's very, very skilled. I think he has a real, intuitive feel for directing, and directing actors, and he operates the camera as well in this film.
