Transformers Robot Rundown: Decepticons

The first Transformers movie had a good cast of robots, but given the enormous size of the Transformers universe it only featured a fraction of who it could have. Luckily, its sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen attempts to rectify this problem, adding a whole slew of new robots looking to save, or destroy, the world. Want to know if your favorite Transformer will be featured? Check out the rundown below to see which Decepticons made the cut. You can find last week's rundown of the new Autobots lineup here.

DECEPTICONS (The Bad Guys)

The Fallen

The Fallen: The title character is an ancient robot who's sort of like the Transformers' version of Lucifer. He's one of the original robot aliens and his defiance and arrogance led to banishment in another dimension. The screenwriters say that The Fallen holds the key to life on both Earth and Cybertron, the Transformers' home planet.

Starscream

Starscream: An F-22 Raptor and second in command while Megatron was leader, Starscream flew off into space at the end of the previous movie. He returns in RotF bearing Cybertronian symbols on his body and commanding a powerful new Decepticon army.

Sideways

Sideways: New to the line-up is a dark gray Audi R8 named Sideways. He’s a simple courier who avoids combat and hides behind larger Decepticons. The Autobots discover him in Shanghai with Demolisher. He'll be taken on, and out, by Sideswipe in RotF.

Scorpinok

Scorpinok: The scorpion-like Decepticon Scorpinok was nearly destroyed in the first movie. In RotF he is the minion of Grindor, an MH-53 Pave Low helicopter. After Lennox killed Blackout (the attack helicopter from the 2007 Transformers movie), Scorpinok hid in the desert and licked his wounds. Now, fully repaired, he's teamed up with a new Decepticon who is virtually a clone of his previous heli-partner.

Soundwave

Soundwave: Megatron's intelligence officer, Soundwave transforms into a Cybertronian jet-like aircraft. In the 1980's toyline, Soundwave's alternate mode was a micro-cassette player, but the moviemakers thought that he deserved a much cooler update than becoming an MP3 player.

Ravage

Ravage: A beast-like tracker bot and minion of Soundwave, Ravage resembles a large one-eyed jaguar that transforms into a missile. In the RotF plotline, Ravage is sent to Earth by Soundwave to steal a shard of the Allspark which is used to bring Megatron back online. Ravage later appears in Egypt where he hunts down Sam Witwicky. Watch for a battle between Ravage and Bumblebee in the movie.

The Doctor

The Doctor: A spider-like torture droid that Shia LaBeouf will endure. Ouch!

Wheelie

Wheelie: A tiny spybot, Wheelie is a toy-sized RC Truck sent to spy on Sam Witwicky. While following Sam's girlfriend Mikaela Banes, Wheelie stumbles onto a mousetrap and is discovered. Enamored with Mikaela, he becomes her pet and actually switches sides to help them translate the Primes' language.

Demolisher

Demolishor: This giant bruiser is a red Terex O&K RH 400 hydraulic mining excavator. Demolishor is the protector of a small Decepticon community in Shanghai and the one seen running through an overpass in the trailers. Get ready for a battle royale between Demolishor and Optimus Prime in the new movie.

The Constructicons

The Constructicons: A combination of seven robots (Scavenger, Scrapper, Hightower, Longhaul, Rampage, Overload, and Mixmaster) who transform into construction machinery. They can also link up with one another to form one gigantic robot named Devastator.

Megatron

Megatron: While Optimus' archenemy seems to have been killed off in the first movie, we have it on good authority that he'll make an appearance towards the end of RotF in a new tank form.

Jrollingh, I agree with every thing you wrote. (Except for the comments on Shia and Megan. They and everyone else were awsome!) The scenes that made me guess what the story is abou,t and when I saw the movie a couple of my guesses were right and others were the ones that I did not think of.

I agree with ya. My head starts spinning about the movie's plot whenever I get or see anything for it. I am still mad at whoever thought about killing off Jazz. Anyways, I am so stoked about what Bay and the crew did on this flick. Hopefully the DEPS loose very more badly than they did in the first movie. Go AUTOBOTS!!!!!

Megatron's revived self was supposed to be Galvatron but it's cool with me. And the Fallen!!!! Geez, so glad to finally get a good look at him and a much more badass version than his comic book self. Hopefully, they do introduce Unicron to the movies and can't wait to see what he'll look like!

Sweet! Know we know what the sand- sucking Decepticon's name is, Devastator, and the big wheeled guy, Demolisher. And yeah Ravage. But now all we need to see is what Megatron looks like as his brand- new Cybertronian tank form
