Meet the TwiCon Fan Correspondent Finalists

On May 27, 2009, Twi-Moms, Twi-Hards, and Twi-Fans from all parts of the country headed to New York City ready to showcase their Twilight knowledge and on-the-spot reporting skills. Why? For the chance to become our guest correspondent for TwiCon.

We've narrowed it down to six finalists, all who make their case below — in alphabetical order. Which fan do you think should help us cover TwiCon? Cast your vote. Then be sure to tune in on July 27th to find out who's going to Dallas.

Dominique Alexis

Hometown: Brooklyn, NY

Team: Team Edward

Dominique, a Brooklyn girl at heart, is a Twilight fan through and through. Her favorite book in the saga is Eclipse and she says what really gets her going about the series is the whole concept of forbidden love. Dominique also really enjoys talking to people and would love to get a chance to do so at Twicon. And her crazy Twilight freestylin' is off the hook!

Elyse Ault

Hometown: Scottsdale, AZ

Team: Team Edward

Elyse loved Twilight so much, she saw it in the theater two times the first day it opened. She's also read New Moon twice, but Breaking Dawn is her favorite in the Saga. Elyse tried to hide her Twilight love but is letting it show now in hopes to go to TwiCon with us. Her big secret? She's got a Robert Pattinson picture pinned up in her closet. Like a true Edward fan, she can't bear to be away from him for too long.

Samantha Fabretti

Hometown: New Britain, CT

Team: Team Edward

How long did it take you to finish reading the Twilight Saga? Samantha Fabretti, or "Sam Fabs," says she did it in five days. And then she started over again. Sam has seen Twilight more than 20 times now, and we're sure that number is continuing to rise. And to further show her love, Sam gave us a tour of her collection of Twi-stuff that included posters, key chains, T-shirts, and calendars.

Jessica Gueco

Hometown: San Francisco, CA

Team: Team Edward

Jessica, aka "Yoshi," takes a bit of Twilight with her everywhere she goes. Her workspace is no exception. With posters, desktop wallpaper, and the saga, itself, ready to be loaned out at any moment, Jessica does little to hide her obsession. And she wants to share it with everyone else. Her blog (whattheforks.wordpress.com) is her way of spreading the Twi-love. But the biggest sign of her mania is the trip she took to Vancouver to catch a glimpse of the filming of New Moon.

Lauren Simpson

Hometown: Yonkers, NY

Team: Team Switzerland

Do you appreciate Edward's intensity but love Jacob's smile? Then you'll identify with Lauren. She loves to talk to other fans about the series to get to the heart of why they love it just like she does. And how far will she go to show her love for all things Twilight? What else would a vampire require? A gift of blood. To illustrate her desire to go to Twicon with us, Lauren headed to the local blood bank to donate. Wow.

Ana Velazquez

Hometown: Queens, NY

Team: Team Jacob

Ana is our only finalist on Team Jacob so, as you might have guessed, New Moon is her favorite book in the Twilight Saga. Ana is so fond of the wolf pack that she named her dog Leah Clearwater. Yes, yes, this girl's got it bad and rarely is she seen out without her favorite Forks High School T-shirt or a few Twilight pins adorning her wardrobe. Also in her Twilight collection — all the books, some movie companions, and a smattering of posters.

Don't forget to vote for your favorite!

I'd like to thank Reelz for holding the contest. It was pleasure to join and sure wished i could have at least made the finalists. I saw a couple of the selected finalists when I was there. Best of luck to all of the chosen ones, but I was really hoping Reelz would break stereotype and showcase how wide an audience the Twilight Saga reaches and have at least 1 male finalist and/or a Twilight mom. I did make the air though for a grand total about 1.5 seconds though (I GOT PROPS). Thanks guys.
