Blackface technology has certainly come a long way since comedians first employed the offensive practice in the cartoonishly racist "minstrel shows" of the early 1900s. Witness EW.com's preview of Tropic Thunder, Ben Stiller's new comedy about a film crew shooting the most expensive Vietnam movie ever, which features the first-ever image from the film. Standing in between stars Jack Black and Stiller is a fairly innocuous-looking African-American man; look closer, though, and you'll discover it's none other than Robert Downey Jr.
Funny? Offensive? Either way, you have to admit it's a darn good makeup job.
