  • More ab-o-riffic men in sandals coming to your local cinema

The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Lawrence Kasden (Raiders of the Lost Ark, Empire Strikes Back) has been hired by Warner Brothers to write a remake of the 1981 cult classic Clash of the Titans.

The story follows the adventure of Zeus' son, Perseus, as he attempts to rescue Princess Andromeda. Along the way, he is challenged to a series of tasks by Zeus which include slaying Medusa and capturing Pegasus.

The decision to remake the pic is no-doubt influenced by the rabid success of 300, also by Warner Brothers. Furthermore, it begs the question, what other lousy movies with ancient men in their underpants are studios going to remake now in hopes of find the next 300?
