Universal has released the
first official image of the dreaded Sleestacks, the hissing, bug-eyed villains of
Land of the Lost,
Will Ferrell's big-screen adaptation of the kitschy (or campy, if you prefer) '70s TV show from acid-trip children's television pioneers Sid and Marty Krofft. (

Gut reaction: While the new sleestak costumes are suitably menacing in appearance, they don't seem nearly as funny as their cheeply-made '70s counterparts. More importantly, do they actors wearing them have the ad-libbing skills to match wits with improv comedy king Ferrell? We'll just have to wait and see.
