The New York Times reports that internet reviews of this summer's most highly anticipated film, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, have started to trickle in, and if the anonymous critics on Ain't It Cool News and other fansites are to be believed, the fourth chapter of the iconic action/adventure franchise could very well turn out to be an overhyped disappointment.
Paramount and director Steven Spielberg have taken extraordinary steps to keep Indy 4 under wraps before its Cannes Film Festival debut on May 18th, screening the film only a handful of times for distributors and theater chain executives. While the bad buzz is certainly disconcerting, it's important to note that it's nowhere near Speed Racer levels of negativity.
