A decade ago, a headline like the one above would have elicited a hearty laugh. But with more "serious actor" types like Christian Bale, Edward Norton and Robert Downey Jr. gravitating toward big-budget comic book flicks, the prospect of Oscar nominee Leonardo DiCaprio donning the red, white and blue tights as the patriotic superhero Captain America is no longer so absurd.
According to LatinoReview.com, Marvel Studios has yet to approach Leo for the role; they've simply placed him atop their wish list. Still, the mere possibility is more than enough to inspire furious debate on fanboy discussion boards everywhere. Personally, I think Leo's voice is a bit too whiny for Steve Rogers/Captain America. Plus, his oversized noggin might prove a tad distracting while in costume, dwarfing Cap's iconic shield. Disagree? Discuss.
