Move over, emo Spidey. According to Boxofficemojo.com, The Dark Knight is on pace to earn over $155 million this weekend, shattering the previous three-day record of $151 million set last year by Spider-Man 3. Christopher Nolan's much-anticipated sequel to Batman Begins opened in over 4300 theaters -- many of them selling out well before the movie's midnight debut on Friday.
Coming in a distant second place at the box office -- and destined to become the answer to a trivia question -- was the ABBA musical Mamma Mia!, which earned a respectable $27.6 million in its opening weekend.
The Dark Knight's next -- and likely unattainable -- milestone is the all-time domestic box office record of $600 million, set by Titanic in 1997.
