  • Will Christian Bale's Assault Arrest Delay Terminator Salvation?

Christian Bale, star of Terminator SalvationReports are emerging that Christian Bale, star of The Dark Knight and the upcoming sci-fi reboot Terminator Salvation, was arrested yesterday in London. According to the BBC, Bale was held for questioning by Scotland Yard officials after his mother and sister alleged that the 34-year-old actor assaulted them. Upon his release, Bale's attorneys issued a statement saying that he "co-operated throughout, gave his account in full of the events in question, and left the station without any charge."

Despite his superstar status, the soft-spoken, Welsh-born actor has generally avoided the spotlight -- and the tabloids -- throughout his career upsurge. The impact of his recent arrest on Terminator Salvation, which is currently shooting in the States for a planned May 29, 2009 release, is unclear at this point.
