  • The Dark Knight Set to Return

If you were one of the few people who missed The Dark Knight in theaters -- considering it is the second highest domestic grossing movie of all time there aren't many -- you will get another chance to see it when The Dark Knight is re-released to theaters and IMAX on January 23, 2009.

The Dark Knight is a little less than $4 million shy of a $1 billion worldwide box-office gross, which may have played a small part in the re-release. Should it reach that landmark, it will become the fourth movie to do so, trailing Titanic, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. The DVD for The Dark Knight comes out December 9, which may prompt audiences to stay at home and watch it on Blu-ray instead.
