Fox is pitting Springfield vs. Springfield in a contest to determine which of the 30+ American towns that share the moniker will have the honor of hosting the premiere of the feature length Simpsons movie, The Chicago Tribune reports.
The competition plays upon a long-running Simpsons gag: while it's well known that the show is set in the fictitious town of Springfield, Simpsons writers have refused to reveal the exact state in which the town resides.
While the exact criteria that will be used to determine the contest winner has not yet been revealed, various Springfields are already making their pitches to Fox.
My personal choice is Springfield, South Dakota, home of the famous Springfield Frog Auction and Bull-O-Rama!
