  • Rob Zombie Confirmed to Direct Halloween 2

A week ago, word was that Rob Zombie might direct a follow-up to his Halloween remake, but Zombie had not confirmed the report. Consider it confirmed. Zombie was previously uninterested in directing the sequel, but told told Variety: "I was so burned out. (But) I took a long break, made a record and I got excited again."

Zombie claims that Halloween 2 will not follow the original sequel but will go in a whole new direction, one that sources told ShockTillYouDrop is a "totally unique approach" to a sequel.

Halloween 2 will open sometime in October, 2009. "Now, we'll be hauling ass," said Zombie, "and that's the problem making a movie called 'Halloween': If you come out Nov. 1 or after, nobody cares. If it was called anything else, I'd be fine."

Rob Zombies approach to the remake of Halloween was unique and completely terrifiying. I bought the unrated DVD and have not stopped watching it. Very rarely is a film redone with this kind of direction. It turned the story around completlely and made for a much better tale. I am thrilled and cannot wait for the next one!
