• Taylor Lautner Fights For New Moon Role

  In the face of growing rumors that he will be replaced -- perhaps by Michael Copon -- in the Twilight sequel, Taylor Lautner has bulked up and is fighting back to reprise his role as Jacob Black. He tells MTV that he has put on 19 pounds and will put on ten more to fill out the werewolf role in New Moon. Noting that he hasn't been scratched off the list yet, Lautner is optimistic about his sit-down with director Chris Weitz this Friday to talk it over. And the fans appear to be in his corner on this one, with an MTV poll showing him a 12-1 favorite over all other contenders for the role, including Copon. Given Weitz's evident eagerness to appease the fan base, it looks like he may still have a fighting chance.

  This is completely idiotic, they are trying to ruin this movie aren't they? First of all, if there is no Taylor this movie will more than likely bomb. I read an interview where Michael dissed Taylor the whole interview- yet he doesn't have anything against him. He's going to ruin the movie for the true fans, But he's greedy and wants money, and thinks he's got an in with New Moon. I guess he doesn't realize that he has so many people against him. He's going to flat out ruin this movie, I hope he realizes that. Taylor's the only true Jacob. They casted everyone perfectly in Twilight and they'd be idiotic not to keep what is good for the movie. Taylor shouldn't have to fight for his role, the one he deserves. I promise you I will refuse to see this movie with any different cast members. I know I've written a novel, but once you get a Twilight fan on a role it's hard to stop them.

    watevs i think CHris Weitz is just jealous of Taylor Lautner because he's GORGEOUS and he wants someone uglier to be Jacob. TAYLOR LAUTNER IS THE BEST!

  OMG! Taylor better be Jacob! I am going to kill someone if hes not! Hes 16 and 5.9"! Hes probably going to grow before March! And if he doesnt.. who cares! He is Jacob Black!

  Dude Seriously!?!?! Why Wud U Change Taylor. Hes put on 19 lbs. already and said he'd have 10 move put on by the time they start to shoot!!! That shows he truely wants this part and is willing to do anything to keep being Jacob Black. Taylor Lautner is THE Jacob Black!!! There isn't any other person who could fit the character of Jacob. Taylor is working his butt off to keep his part! Why replace someone who is willing to work as hard as he can? KEEP TAYLOR AS JACOB!!!

  I Think that Taylor Lautner should continue to play the role of Jacob we haven’t even seen that much off him in the first movie .. this will give him a chance to win over the haters with the big role that comes up in New Moon ,, they should have even thought of changing him he was a hit in Twilight and he didn’t even have that big of a role so that tells something about Taylor and his Fans that proves that he should continue on as Jacob Black .. All for Taylor Launter to continue being Jacob Black !!!

  Taylor is the perfect Jacob! How can Ashley Greene, who's 5'5 play Alice, who's 4'10, and do a wonderful job? With movie magic, of course! Copon is 26. He wouldn't have an easy time acting as a 16 year old in high school. All the more reason for Taylor to play Jacob.

    Taylor Lautner needs to stay throught the whole series of twilight. Without him twilight wouldn't be as awsome as it is. I will refuse to watch the sequal if he is replaced. Why change the cast if they were the ones that make the movie one of the top 10 best movies?
