With Sam Raimi being too busy with the upcoming Drag Me to Hell and Spider-Man 4 to continue working on the new Jack Ryan movie, Paramount is still moving forward with the Tom Clancy franchise. Screenwriter Hossein Amini, known for period pieces Wings of the Dove and 2009's Shanghai is set to write an original story, not an adaptation of a Clancy novel.
