Warner Bros. and Universal announced today that they'll be joining forces to build a new Harry Potter theme park in Orlando, Florida, Bloomberg News reports. The new attraction, dubbed The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, is set to open in late 2009.
In addition to various Potter-themed rides, shops and attractions, the park will include life-size re-creations of Hogsmeade, the Forbidden Forest and Hogwarts Castle.
What remains to be seen is whether the theme park will be built around a specific version of the Harry Potter character. Will it focus more on the naive, precocious tyke we saw in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone? Or will it be geared more toward the temperamental, hormone-crazed teenager featured in the forthcoming Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix?
