Dear God, if there's anything this country needs rights now, it's not another bailout plan. It's a team of war vets and convicted armed robbers escaped from military prison, now harnessing their powers for good. We are, of course, talking about the A-Team, that beloved TV series from our childhood. Now, thankfully, it looks like a film version may finally be getting off the ground. Fox has set Joe Carnahan to direct, Ridley Scott to produce, and brother Tony to exec produce. In the original television series, the team were vets of the Vietnam war, but the in the movie, the guys will have done tours in the Middle East. Most recently, John Singleton was attached to direct the pic, but he dropped out. Carnahan seems like an exciting choice as his replacement. His debut feature, Narc, was excellent, and he had some big creative differences with Tom Cruise on Mission Impossible III, which we'll take as a sign of his vision and talent.
