  • A Small-Screen Slumdog Millionaire?

Carlos Giron on Who Wants To Be a Millionaire? All this week, Who Wants To Be a Millionaire is giving movie fans a chance to write their own "quiz show contestant wins big" script. During the Netflix Million Dollar Movie Week, host Meredith Vieira challenges fans to answer 15 movie-themed questions, some of which will feature clips from memorable films. And if they get stumped, Millionaire has lined up some notable "experts" for "lifeline calls," including At the Movies co-hosts Ben Lyons and Ben Mankiewicz.

On tonight's show is contestant Carlos Giron, a golf caddy from Atlanta who learned to speak English by watching movies -- "It made for interesting conversations because in grade school he found himself speaking to teachers in 'Yoda-isms.'" (Giron's parents, from Guatemala and Ecudor, came to the U.S. when they were teenagers.)

We've been told they're going to repeat the Netflix challenge next year. So all you movie buffs looking for a way to cash in on that trivia filling your head, make a note to watch for next year's Millionaire auditions.
