With Thor being the next Avengers movie after Iron Man 2, casting decisions are going to have to be made soon, and rumors are flying over who will be cast in director Kenneth Branagh's comic book adaptation.
LatinoReview reports that a source saw Branagh meeting with Alexander Skarsgård, son of actor Stellan Skarsgård, who is not only an actor in his own right (HBO'sTrue Blood) but also is represented by the same agency as Branagh and greatly resembles Marvel's god of thunder. However, IESB reports that Channing Tatum (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra) is also in the running for the role.
IESB also reports that Josh Hartnett is vying for the role of Loki, Thor's mischievous, evil brother and main adversary. Hartnett is on a short list of actors for that role, however apparently Hartnett is very interested in the role since he has never played a villain before (yes, 40 Days and 40 Nights was criminal but Hartnett did not play a villain).
