  • Kristen Stewart Talks Twilight Sequels

Speaking once again to MTV, Kristen Stewart gave her opinion on Catherine Hardwicke's exit, Chris Weitz (The Golden Compass) directing New Moon, and the possibility of Juan Antonio Bayona (The Orphanage) taking over directorial duties for 2010's Eclipse.

The reluctant star said of Hardwicke's abrupt departure: "Well, it wasn't like it was a big bomb that was dropped. It wasn't much of a shock." When asked about the circulating rumours that Bayona will be responsible for the third movie, she replied with "I mean, I'm sure Bayona is a great director. But nothing's solid, so I don't know. It's above me."

It seems even the movie's stars are being kept in the dark about where the franchise is heading, which hopefully isn't away from the Weitz brothers and into Drew Barrymore's hands. If Eclipse is indeed scheduled to shoot back-to-back with New Moon, an official announcement should be imminent.
