  • Robert Pattinson to Star in New Dune Movie?

Robert PattinsonRobert Pattinson has sparked more rumors about his upcoming movie roles, after he was spotted leaving director Peter Berg's Beverly Hills pad.

Berg, who directed 2008's hit Hancock, is set to helm the 2010 update of Frank Herbert's Dune. A cast list is yet to be announced, but the inclusion of Hollywood's hottest heartthrob would be sure to put the movie on the money-making map.

What do you think, Twilighters? Would this be a good move for Pattinson? There's no doubt he can draw an audience, though we're not sure Dune would be the right role to please fans. Still, as long as there was a slew of new pictures of the messy-haired actor, we're sure complaints would be the last thing on everyone's mind.

I'm a fan of Pattinson's and loved him in How To Be. I detest Twilight though and I cant wait for him to find more projects worthy of his talent. Its about time he got to work with good directors. He hasnt really had an exceptional one since Mike Newell. Berg's an interesting director and I like the idea of him working with Pattinson. Again I'm not a fan of Dune so I hope they dont treat it too reverentially. I'd go see it to watch Pattinson so cant say fairer than that.

Pattinson would draw in the females and help him build a male fanbase. Its a good move. He's actually a down to earth funny guy so given time should be able to develop a male fanbase (once he can escape the clutches of Twilight). I'm assuming its the role of Paul they may be in discussions over. I can see that working well. I like all of Berg's in development projects and Pattinson would work in most of them. Pattinson needs a director to build a long term relationship with and Berg would be a good choice.

As a fan of Pattinson but not Twilight I'd wet my pants with happiness at the idea of him being in Dune. Berg did well with Han**** and I think he'd get the best from Pattinson. I didnt like the first film of Dune and the series suffered from a poor budget. So with a big budget I'd like the story to take flight. Pattinson would suit the role of Paul well. I think you'll findmost fans of Pattinson just want him to have good roles. They arent after lots of slushy romantic nonsense. I'm especially excited about him playing the lead role in Bel Ami.
