Did you know that All the Boys Love Mandy Lane was opening this Friday? Neither did we. That's because the studio releasing Mandy, The Weinstein Co., did almost zero promotion for the horror flick -- no trailers, no posters, no Captivity-esque faux controversy, nada. In the parlance of Hollywood, the practice is known as "dumping" a film.
Thankfully, a Teutonic knight in shining armor arrived at the eleventh hour to spare Mandy from her humiliating fate. Variety reports that the German company Senator Entertainment has purchased the film and rescued it from its impending dumpage, pushing its release to early 2008. Looks like there'll be a happy ending for Mandy after all. God bless those wacky Germans.
