I recently spoke with Michael Welch — or Mike Newton, for the legions of Twilight fans. After wrapping up filming for New Moon, he's onto his next project, participating this weekend in the Young Playwrights Festival in Los Angeles.
Welch is playing the lead in After Maren, a one-act play about a young man who struggles to keep his life intact as his sister's ghost haunts him. A big fan of the stage, Welch died his hair for another play right before the Twilight premiere, making him one of the few cast members who went from blond to brunette.
