Fans of Harry Potter are tired of waiting. After an eight-month delay that some claimed had to do with the fervor surrounding the new kids on the block — the Twilight crew — but which was more likely due to financial considerations, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will debut in less than a week.
Anticipation is high for the return of Hogwarts and the entire Harry Potter crew, but many are already talking about the next two movies in the series and the budding romance between main characters Hermione Granger (played by Emma Watson) and Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint). Those who have read the books already know how this turns out, but for those who only follow the movies — WARNING: SPOILER — Hermione and Ron share a kiss in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Despite what some might think, filming the kissing scene was not a very pleasant experience for either of the actors involved. In a recent interview, Watson said:
Rupert is like a brother to me, and our relationship couldn't be more platonic. So kissing him... well, it felt like incest, to be honest.
In another interview Watson elaborated further, saying:
This is ten years worth of tension and hormones and chemistry and everything (in) one moment. We had to ace it. Kissing is awkward, kissing is always awkward.
Grint agreed, adding:
It's not something we were really looking forward to. It was quite a strange thing to have to think about doing.
