In a sign of ultimate good-guy-ness, possible Green Lantern candidate Nathan Fillion told MTV that he "can't think of anyone better" for the role than Ryan Reynolds. Apparently, he's not as upset over losing the part as some may think:
He's got the look, he's got the talent, he's got the chops, he's got the build — the abs, he's got superhero written all over him. I'm a little more like [a] sidekick, I'm a little more comic relief, whereas I know Ryan is going to handle [the role] beautifully. Ryan knows exactly what he's doing and having worked with him for over two years, I know how he handles himself, I know how he attacks things and I'm a big fan.
Fillion and Reynolds both worked together on the TV show Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place, but, in terms of Green Lantern, Reynolds never received the fan support that Fillion did. In fact, Reynolds was more of a last-minute surprise, where as Fillion was the subject of a fan-made trailer that he admitted "tickled me to no end." Still, all of that didn't stop Fillion from praising his one-time TV co-star:
He does really, really good work.... We've actually exchanged a couple of e-mails just recently, just yakking about it. I'm very excited for him.
