  • Friday the 13th Part 2 Coming in 2010, Possibly in 3-D

Friday the 13th RebootThe box office for the Friday the 13th reboot made nearly triple its production budget in the United States alone, starting with a $42-million opening weekend, yet no sequel has been announced — until now.

Bloody-Disgusting reports that Friday the 13th Part 2 is on the way and will arrive in theaters on August 13, 2010. BoxOfficeMojo has listed the sequel as being "in 3-D."

Yet, when answering a question about the possible use of 3-D and a snow setting for the sequel on his Twitter page, Friday producer Brad Fuller said the movie isn't officially being made yet.

we don't have a greenlight from the studio so until that happens i don't know what it will be.

So there's no Friday the 13th Part 2 then? Or just no 3-D? Fuller further clarified his comment in a statement to ShockTillYouDrop.

I can't tell you anything about 3-D because New Line has not green lighted the movie because we haven't completed the script. So, we are waiting for the script to come in — then they'll budget — then they'll make a decision about 3-D. Having said that I really hope that is they decide that make it in 3-D.

Friday the 13th screenwriters Mark Swift and Damian Shannon are returning to pen the sequel. Much like the possibility of 3-D, no director has been officially announced.
