Disappointing news for everyone who enjoyed Hugh Jackman's performance as this past year's Oscar host: Variety confirms that the 41-year-old, Aussie star will not reprise the role next year. The upside is that even though Jackman won't be the main attraction when next year's award show broadcasts on March 7, he may host in the future.
For now, he's concentrating on completing his role in the Broadway show A Steady Rain, in which he stars opposite Daniel Craig. The show wraps up on December 6, at which point Jackman will begin preparations for his role as a boxer and promoter in the sci-fi action thriller Real Steel. The movie is being directed by Night at the Museum's Shawn Levy and takes place in a future where human fighters have been replaced by robots.
