If Spider-Man 4 contains the character of The Black Cat, it's doubtful that Rachel McAdams will play the role. McAdams responded to Entertainment Weekly about the online speculation.
That's a total rumor, I have to say. I was hanging out in Toronto the other day and someone came up to me and said, "I just heard you're doing Spider-Man 4." And I said,"Really? No one told me!" It's not true.
Of course, the original report only said that McAdams had met with Spider-Man 4 producers, not that she had the role. Still, a Sony rep confirmed that the McAdams casting is "an Internet rumor, as so many things are these days."
The search for an actress to play The Black Cat is still reportedly ongoing.
