  • My Kid Could Paint That!

Chances are, you've looked at a work of modern art at some point in your life and thought the very same thing.

In 2004, the real version of that statement came to life in the form of four year-old painting prodigy Marla Olmstead. Cute as a button, in love with the camera and with a knack for Pollock-esque creations, Marla was selling paintings, selling newspapers and a soon-to-be movie star.

But then, 60 Minutes changed everything. Documentarian Amir Bar-Lev was already midway through his movie on Marla when the show made allegations that perhaps Marla wasn't completing the works all on her own.

The movie My Kid Could Paint That hits theaters today in limited release. It will be expanding across the nation in the coming months. We've got the review, an exclusive interview with the director and a short video clip below. The movie is a great watch and is already generating strong buzz. It's got an 88 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and has been mentioned as an early candidate for Best Documentary Feature at the Oscars.
