For the gamers: Sony is trying to get a movie version of their online role-playing game, EverQuest, off the ground. They have just hired Michael Gordon (300) to write a script and Avi Arad to produce.
For the horror fans: New Line is trying to improve their vampire movie, Darksiders, about an FBI agent who enlists vamps to help take down an arms trader. Laeta Kalogridis (Bionic Woman) has been hired to do the rewrite.
And for the plain old comic book fans: Paz Vega and Jamie King are the newest additions to the cast for Will Eisner's The Spirit. Vega will play Plaster of Paris; King will play phantom siren Lorelei.
