  • Will Ferrell/Land of the Lost finally happening

Universal has finally greenlit the Will Ferrell "event comedy" Land of the Lost, which has been floating around the ether (with Ferrell attached) for years.

Despite Ferrell's status as virtual box office gold, word is Universal was a little gun-shy of making another big budget comedy--especially after the lackluster performance of Evan Almighty last summer. But the movie's budget was taken down to a more reasonable (ha) $100 million and shooting was scheduled to start in March.

Brad Silberling (Lemony Snickets: A Series of Unfortunate Events, Moonlight Mile) will direct Land of the Lost, which is indeed an adaptation of Sid and Marty Krofft's well-known children's TV show.
