The people of Vancouver have spoken and they have said, "Persepolis."
The animated French movie based on Marjane Satrapi's graphic novel about her experience growing up in Iran during the Islamic Revolution won the People's Choice Award for most popular international film at the Vancouver International Film Festival last week.
This win lends steam to Persepolis' Oscar campaign, as France just made the controversial decision to select it over the popular La Vie en Rose to submit for its Best Foreign Film contender in this year's Academy Awards.
