The animated, graphic novel-based story of a girl's coming of age during the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Persepolis, won the debut feature prize at the London Film Festival during yesterday's closing ceremonies.
This win is on top of the jury prize at Cannes and the people's choice award at Vancouver. And considering that Persepolis also beat out La Vie en Rose and The Diving Bell and the Butterfly--both of which are magnificent--for France's entry into best foreign film, it must be one heck of a cartoon. We can't wait to see it.
