According to Daniel Radcliffe in an interview for Empire magazine, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is, in some aspects, similar to Trainspotting. While none of the characters in JK Rowling’s book ever have sex or do heroine, Radcliffe says that there is a lot of “sexual energy and drug parallels.” As the main characters in the series get older, they encounter more of these adult situations everyone does at some point in their life, although it’s doubtful that they’ll be quite as explicit as in Trainspotting. The newest Potter film is still expected to be very dark but it will also have some more light-hearted moments as Harry and Ron try to win a date.
