Watching this movie on television I truly had a surreal experience. A day before my girlfriend had broken up with me. Having already seen this film and knowing what it was about helped me get through it. Still, this films message of 'If you could erase someone or something from your memory, would you do it?' is even more eerie for me.

Jim Carrey does his fine acting job, I would love to say this is his greatest, but his version of Count Olaf in Lemony Snicket's a Series of Unfourtunate Events in my opinion is clearly superior. despite his great performance, I thought he was out-shined (forgive me for that pun) by Kate "Titanic" Winslett. I may just be saying this because I have thing for quirky characters from Juno McGruff in the hit indie Juno, to Milton in Office Space.

Micheal Gondry is proving he is still one of the greatest working directors today. His camera movement, his editing, his intpretation of Jim Carrey's mind, gets no greater then in this delightful indie.

With Kate Winslett being the character I am falling over, the supporting cast is something to look at, Kirsten "Spider-man" Dunst, Elijah "Lord of the Rings", and Tom "Micheal Clayton" Wilkinson, are all perfectly casted and perfectly played. The Oscars sure missed alot of the awards acting wise.

A review of ESOTSM without mentioning the perfect screenplay written by Charlie Kaufman, Michel Gondry, and Pierre Bismuth is like eating a peanut butter sandwhich, without the jelly. So, there I mentioned it, I would love to say more about it but sadly, words can not describe the perfectness of it.

All in all, even with this film's weird title, weird plot, and just plain weird all around, this film is a true winner.
