The first DVD Tuesday of 2008 is a relatively tame one, with Milla Jovovich's videogame sequel Resident Evil: Extinction leading a pack of new releases that includes the Jason Statham/Jet Li action duel WAR and Jon Voight's controversial Mormon massacre flick September Dawn.
Our pick for this week is the over-the-top action thriller Shoot 'Em Up, starring Clive Owen and Paul Giamatti. Check out our review.

Several new movies are lining up this weekend to try and knock Superbad from its perch atop the box office rankings. Do any of them have what it takes to stop the latest Judd Apatow juggernaut?
A rundown of our reviews of this weekend's new releases:
The Nanny Diaries
"Stalled out in mediocre-land...unless you're a fan of the book, I'd say it's a rental." [Full Review]
Resurrecting the Champ
"Nothing can wrench this movie from the grip of a saccharine, formulaic script full of plattitudes and divided allegiances." [Full Review]
Illegal Tender
"If you've ever wondered what would happen if Martin Scorsese remade Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot, this movie is for you." [Full Review]
The Hottest State
"Perfectly fine indie fare, but the plot and the characters seem a little more self-indulgently autobiographical than compelling." [Full Review]
Also opening this weekend: War, Mr. Bean's Holiday, September Dawn, Right at Your Door.
