    The movie follows a formerly homeless teen named Kazi, who works with NYC youth to use artistic expression, namely hip hop music, as a channel for their difficult and troubling life stories and issues.

    The Hip Hop Project, which won accolades on the film festival circuit, is opening on May 11 in Atlanta, Boston, Baltimore, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, D.C.
