Though summer may be drawing to a close, Hollywood's summer movie season remains very much in high gear. A plethora of solid flicks debut at the Cineplex this weekend, including two of the best movies of 2007: Superbad and The King of Kong.
A rundown of our reviews of this weekend's new releases:
Superbad
"The funniest comedy I've seen since Borat, superior even to the much-heralded Knocked Up." [Full Review]
The Invasion
"A popcorn-y sci-fi flick with a cool look, a tense, creepy feel, and uncommonly handsome leads giving above-average-for-the-genre performances." [Full Review]
Death at a Funeral
"Smart, light, and funny...this English farce may not have a lot of stars Americans will recognize, but that shouldn't keep you out of the theater." [Full Review]
The King of Kong
"Engrossing, suspenseful, funny and heartbreaking...easily one of the best movies of 2007." [Full Review]
Also opening this weekend: The Last Legion, 7 Dias and The 11th Hour.
