Sick of all the regular awards hulaballoo? Well, maybe The Fido Awards are more your style.
Yes, the Fidos--the world's first international awards for canine actors--were handed out in a special ceremony last weekend as part of the London Film Festival.
And, FYI, corgis cleaned up this year. Not only did the corgis who played Queen Elizabeth II's dogs in The Queen win for Best Historical Hounds, but another (able-bodied) corgi won Best Comedy Canine for playing a handicapped dog in Year of the Dog.
We are so not kidding.

Thursday, April 5
As a tie-in with Year of the Dog, the new movie by The Good Girl writer Mike White, Paramount Vantage is sponsoring a dog-tastic event that is open to the public.
This Saturday (4/7) between 10AM and 2PM Angelinos and their dogs
are invited to come to the Farmers Market in LA (3rd & Fairfax) for doggie makeovers, paw massages, and "paw-dicures," as well as professional photos with your dog, and dog cake from Three Dog Bakery.
Year of the Dog is about a woman (played by Molly Shannon) who gets a little obsessed with animals after her pet beagle, Pencil, dies. Accordingly, there will also be dogs up for adoption at the event, as well as free microchips and vaccinations to the first 100 dogs to arrive.
And yes, I am fully aware that this event was prime fodder for snark, but as a fellow dog-nut, I shoot straight on this one. Live with it.
Next Showing: Year of the Dog opens in theaters on April 13.
