Judd Apatow is currently the hottest comedy ticket in town. As a director, he’s riding the back-to-back successes of The 40 Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up. As a producer, you can add Superbad and Talladega Nights to the tally. IMDB lists five more Judd Apatow productions releasing this year and next. ReelzChannel.com has already gotten an advance look at Walk Hard and Drillbit Taylor (both look pretty damn hysterical, for the record).
ReelzChannel.com has been lucky enough to visit the sets of Pineapple Express (full report coming soon) and Forgetting Sarah Marshall, which is the Apatow Production we are here to tell you all about today. It stars Jason Segel, Mila Kunis and Apatow regulars Paul Rudd and Jonah Hill. Check out our full set report right here!

Anyone who has seen Knocked Up knows that Seth Rogen and is band of slacker buddies' dream of building a website with images of Hollywood nude scenes is ruined when that they've been beaten to the punch by Mr.Skin.com.
What you may not realize is how much Mr. Skin's website benefitted from its mention in the movie. Mr.Skin.com experienced a 35% increase in new traffic during June (the month that Knocked Up hit theaters). That's a total of 2.9 million unique visitors.
Not that the site wasn't doing well already--Mr.Skin grossed $5.3 million in 2006. But it looks like tickling Judd Apatow's funnybone is beneficial in more ways than one.

Knocked Up star Seth Rogen has signed on with Columbia Pictures to write and "likely" star in a big-screen adaptation of The Green Hornet, The Los Angeles Times reports.
If and when Rogen's version of The Green Hornet makes it to the big screen, it will be quite an accomplishment for the Judd Apatow protege. Hollywood's been trying to get a Hornet film made for years without any success, despite the apparently insatiable consumer demand for comic book-related properties. Most recently, Clerks director Kevin Smith was attached to write and direct for Miramax, but the project went nowhere and Smith eventually moved on.
The Green Hornet began as a radio show in the '30s, chronicling the adventures of Britt Reid, a wealthy newspaper publisher by day and costumed crime-fighter at night. The character eventually branched out to other media, including film, television and comic books, with varying degrees of success. The short-lived '60s TV series is notable for introducing American audiences to a young Bruce Lee, who played the Hornet's badass sidekick Kato.
Columbia is said to be hoping for a 2009 release for The Green Hornet.

Transformers continued its remarkable box office run, easily winning the weekend with a tally of $67.6 million, boxofficemojo.com reports. Ratatouille held strong in its second week in release, raking in $29 million, while Live Free or Die Hard earned $17.4 million. Last week's only other new release, License to Wed, took in just over $10 million, signalling that moviegoers might be growing a little tired of Robin Williams's trademark shtick. Rounding out the top five with a $5.2 million tally was Knocked Up, which continues to hold strong after five-plus weeks in theaters.
Does Transformers have the stuff to take on heavyweights Spider-Man 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End for the summer box office crown? We'll find out this weekend, when a certain teenage wizard arrives in theaters.

As expected, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer dominated the weekend box office, raking in $57 million and placing well ahead of runner-up Ocean's Thirteen, which managed just a $19 million gross in its second week of release, boxofficemojo.com reports.
The weekend's other new release, Nancy Drew, didn't fare nearly as well, limping to a $7 million take and finishing outside of the top five.
Knocked Up continued its strong run, placing third overall with a $14 million tally. Its 26% drop-off was by far the smallest of all major releases.
Rounding out the top five were Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End and Surf's Up, which took in $12 million and $9 million, respectively.

Early weekend numbers are showing that Ocean' Thirteen will be landing at number one for the weekend Box Office, proving the old Vegas adage that the house (or A-list star, in this case) always wins. Friday estimates have Ocean's leading with an estimated $12.4 million while Pirates 3 and Knocked Up placed in second and third respectively, both with just over $6 million.
Some speculations had Eli Roth's brutal Hostel Part II competing for top honors, but after a disappointing Friday take of an estimated $3.37 million, America may well be losing its taste for the torture-driven horror genre.
Check back on ReelzChannel.com for final numbers this Monday.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End topped the weekend box office for the second week in a row, raking in $43 million and easily fending off newcomers Knocked Up and Mr. Brooks, boxofficemojo.com reports.
The news wasn't all good for At World's End, however, as the flick's overall gross, $216 million, fell well short of the blistering pace set by its predecessor, last year's Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, which took in $258 million over the same time span.
Though it failed to sink Pirates, Knocked Up still enjoyed an impressive opening weekend. Its $29 million take surpassed that of Judd Apatow's previous R-rated comedy, The 40 Year-Old-Virgin, by over $8 million. Buoyed by strong word of mouth, Virgin went on to top the $100 million mark. Expect Knocked Up to do the same. (Don't believe me? Check out Heather's review.)
Look for things to get really interesting at the box office this Friday, when Surf's Up, Ocean's Thirteen and Hostel II arrive in theaters.

At a recent press junket for Knocked Up, its star, Seth Rogen gave a little taste of what he's got in store with his next movie, the long-awaited Superbad.
"I think it just kind of was born out of a desire to see teen characters that are a lot like what [co-writer Evan Goldberg and I] were like when we were in high school," said Rogen.
He and Goldberg started writing the comedy, about two high school social rejects who go to a graduation party and impress their crushes, when they were just 14.
"We were teenagers in Vancouver. There was no real implication that it would ever get made into anything, it was just to amuse ourselves," the self-deprecating actor explained. "Unfortunately, really filthy filthy jokes is what amuses us, so that's what we wrote."
Rogen says Superbad is a return to movies like Fast Times at Ridgemont High, because it shows things like, in the MPAA's words "pervasive crude and sexual content, strong language, drinking, some drug use and a fantasy/comic violent image - all involving teens."
Sounds awesome.

To get fans amped up for their upcoming summer blockbuster Knocked Up (aka Judd Apatow's follow up to The 40-Year-Old Virgin), our friends at Universal have put together quite a fancy website.
The Knocked Up website has all sorts of features for fans who just can't wait for the movie to reach full term, including The Edit Bay (additional movie clips, deleted scenes, Apatow's Director's Video Diary, etc.), Freebies (a free ticket to Knocked Up for those who buy the all-new unrated Double Your Pleasure edition of The 40-Year-Old Virgin), and more.
My favorite? Easily the Knocked Up Baby-Maker. You just upload pix of you and whomever you want and it will whip you up a potential future baby. It's very easy. I took a stab at it with a picture of my husband and myself, and suffice it to say, I will be filing for divorce in the morning.
You can visit the Knocked Up website at KnockedUpMovie.com.
Next Showing: Knocked Up is due in theaters June 1, 2007.
